Get Out Movie Poster

As part of a 30-day design challenge, I created a poster for the 2017 horror film, Get Out.

One of the film's most memorable scenes features Chris (portrayed by Daniel Kaluuya) falling into the “sunken place,” a hypnotic state where the victim loses control of their mind and body. This is a pivotal moment in the plot, which is why I chose it as the focal point of my design.

I wanted the final design to be reminiscent of a vintage film poster. This was achievable by employing a combination of grunge, grains and color halftone effects. Additionally, the use of bold typography and a striking red hue for the title helped evoke the alarming and distressing feelings synonymous with the film.
